Right now, I am taking the pre-workout supplement from the “Monster Series” by Cytosport called Monster Pump. So I wanted to review this and let you guys know what I think of this supplement.

I got the 10 servings can for only $10. This is a really good price as each serving costs just $1. Moreover, a can lasts for 2 weeks as I took it on workout days alone.

I would like to review the product on the basis of its taste, mixability, digestion, effectiveness, economy/price per serving to give you an insight into this pre-workout energy booster supplement. I will also rate the supplement overall.

Profile

Before ratings, I would like to give an introduction about the ingredient profile. The can I bought contains 10 servings as I said before. Each serving consists of creatine monohydrate, leucine, beta alanine, citrulline malate, betaine, caffeine, taurine, carnitine and ALA.

It therefore seems to be a very good ingredient profile to me because there is BCAA with creatine, beta alanine and CM which are expected to create a good anabolic environment in the body for muscle growth by improving the muscle carnosyn levels.

Taste

I took this with water 30 minutes before my workout sessions. The product isn’t very good when it comes to taste but not bad either. It’s fine, I have tasted better pre-workout supplements than this one. I used fruit punch flavor. I would rate the taste 7/10, it could have been better. Personally, I feel that Cytosport need to work to improve the taste of most of their supplements.

Mixability

The first time I mixed this in water with 2 scoops and shook the shit out of it – my shaker lid almost popped open as this frothed up heavily, so be careful. The second time I mixed it with a fork and it wasn’t fizzy at all, so don’t shake this as it takes a long time for the froth to settle down. So, I rate it 6/10 for mixability.

Digestibility

Next is the digestibility. There was no issue here, no problems at all. No bloating or other side effects. I can rate it 9/10 for this.

Effectiveness

Cytosport Monster Pump worked for me here. I got just the right amount of energy and the kickoff I required for my 2 hour workout sessions. Gave me a decent pump, and the right amount of focus and additional motivation. I can rate it 8/10 in terms of effectiveness and product quality. It’s just that there is a lot of competition in this market, and you can get even better – I would still choose Craze, Hemo Rage or C4 over Monster Pump.

The price per serving ratio is also good as you can get each serving for $1. You can get even better prices if you buy the 30 servings can of course. But I don’t stick to any pre-workout supplement for a long time. So, it will be 8/10 for the price value.

I started weight training a few years ago, but nothing serious. I had no real reason, I was very small, I weighed around 135 pounds but I really didn't care. All I wanted to do was work on my biceps and chest. So I made a decision that if I am going to do this I might as well put my heart and soul into it. Bodybuilding now has played a large part in forming my personality. It has given me the discipline that life success demands, and the determination to overcome obstacles. When I work out, my ambition is to push my body harder and harder every time to see how much it can take how much pressure it can stand. I don't make predictions, I just train hard!
